THE DISCOVERED DRAWINGS
While moving house in 1998, a large number of works on paper were moved from
Ron Bloore's small home studio to his painting studio downtown. Among these
drawings, mostly sketches and explorations, was an exquisite group of fully
realized works from 1980 on Arches paper done with gouache, oil and ink all together.
These beautifully delicate works had never been shown to anyone outside
that small sunny room, and were eventually forgotten by Bloore himself. The
Moore Gallery was pleased to give these works their public debut in November 1999. (Photos by John Yates)
