Space
Here are seven groupings of paintings from the seventies and eighties. This was an extraordinary and hectic time of productivity and change. Like the introductions on the Before '64 page, these groupings are more stylistic than chronological. As during that period, the pace of change, and the overlap of series, along with Bloore's tendency to not date works after completion makes presenting these works in an organized manner difficult.
During these years much experimentation on paper also took place in many different media. An overview of these follows the six descriptions of the panel works. It leads on to many more overviews of diverse and surprising scope.

No More Pen and Ink Drawings
Paintings on Paper and Brushed Ink Works
Rather than simply paint on canvas in the manner of recent traditions, Bloore chose to work on paper and on panel in the manner of less recent tradition. Working on paper was always, naturally, much more improvisational than the panel painting. Drawings were approached with complete seriousness of intent but without preconceived design: the imagery was developed on the fly. New techniques were tried with the utmost of care and attention but with maximum speed. Speed was the key to bringing out surprises, while technique would prevent gesture. Gesture was never permitted because it would imply expression.
