A Note on Titles

Each work leaves the studio UNTITLED to avoid limiting the viewer's range of interpretation. It is what you visually experience it to be. Period. And as Fernando Pessoa reminds us, what you see is who you are.

Paintings often get nicknames (The Golden Snakes, The Blue Bum) in the studio but we let that pass. Sometimes a series will get a nickname and these tend to be more exportable (The Dark Chocolates, The Byzantine Lights) as useful references.

Still, for purposes consequent to their trade best left undiscussed, certain dealers have from time to time assigned reassuringly evocative names to pieces they have sold and these titles have entered into the record and are included here.
